The Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (CICS) was founded in 2016 to provide inclusive, research-informed training for professionals in psychosexual and relationship therapy. In 2025 we launched our general counselling qualification course to offer a fully integrated pathway from general counsellor to specialist psychosexual and relationship psychotherapist.
We see psychosexual and relationship therapy as essential to the broader field of psychotherapy. It gives us a lens to examine power, identity and dominant social narratives, and how these shape our clients’ lives and relationships.
We equip therapists with the knowledge, skills and ethical grounding to support people of all identities through complex, relational and intimate issues.
Our unique training approach allows us to offer inclusive, anti-oppressive education that prepares therapists to work ethically, relationally and reflexively while acknowledging and addressing social injustice.
